About the Street Side Guide

The Street Side Guide to Urban Transit Fleets in Canada (2011) is the seventh edition of this popular guide to Canadian transit fleets published since the first edition was produced in 1993. Updated versions were also produced in 1995, 1998, 2000, 2002/04, and 2009.
The Guide includes detailed fleet listings for the vast majority of Canada's urban transit systems from coast to coast. Data includes quantity, vehicle manufacturer, model, built date, date acquired, and system fleet numbers. Also recorded is average fleet age and summary information including high/low floor data, fuel type and age summaries.
The current edition of the Guide includes a 30-page colour photo section, information on manufacturers and lists of preserved Canadian transit vehicles in Canada and the U.S.
Information is included on bus, light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail, trolley coach, and historically preserved fleets.
