This second edition of DUSTY TRAILS to DIVIDED HIGHWAYS: A history of intercity bus lines in Manitoba written by Alex Regiec, Dennis Cavanagh and David A. Wyatt follows the development of the many bus companies and stories of key individuals who pioneered bus services throughout the keystone province.

From Winnipeg, Brandon, Dauphin, Flin Flon and Steinbach to Virden, Killarney, Morden, Gimli and West Hawk Lake bus travel offered inexpensive motion (and sometimes a one-way ticket out) to anyone needing a lift or with the desire to explore the open road and the world at large.

Iconic names like Greyhound, Grey Goose, and Manitoba Motor Transit together with a host of smaller firms once dominated kilometer after kilometer of blacktop of this great province, with bus depots and bus stops in just about every point on the Manitoba Highway map.

This soft cover second edition contains 35% more information than the first edition, with 92 pages filled with superb photos (both in colour and black & white), illustrations and stories. Sized 11” x 8.5” in a landscape format, the book is once again being published by Rest Stop Press, an imprint of the authors’ partnership. It was printed in Canada by Derksen Printers, Steinbach, Manitoba.
