Issue #133 Preview:
Montreal Transportation Commission (MTC) one-man car 1699 was built by Canadian Car and Foundry Limited in Montreal under license from Brill in 1924. It was built as a two-car train trailer (with one of its trucks powered with two motors) and it was last car in the series 1675-1699. It was converted to a one-man car in 1935. Here, running as Canadian Railway Historical Association (CRHA) Excursion No. 65 on the Cartierville line, the motorman is unlocking the switch leading to the Blue Bonnets loop on June 21, 1959. All Montreal streetcar service ended on August 30, 1959.
