BC Electric streetcar #153 in North Vancouver Parade

Historic BC Electric streetcar #153 from 1908 came out of hiding recently and was in North Vancouver’s Canada Day parade. Click on the photos below to zoom in!

It spent most of its career in North Vancouver until it was retired from service almost 40 years later in 1946. It spent many years as a bunkhouse and a chicken coop in the Chilliwack area. Car #153 was rescued in the early 1980’s. It is currently undergoing restoration and will soon have a permanent home at the new North Vancouver Museum & Archives building, near Lonsdale Quay.
