Coast Mountain Bus Orion V Heritage Tour, Saturday, September 13, 2025
A CTHF and TMS Event
The Canadian Transit Heritage Foundation (CTHF) and the Transit Museum Society (TMS) are planning a heritage tour utilizing an Orion V suburban bus from Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) in Vancouver. The Orion V buses, built in 2008, are the last high floor buses in Canada operating for a public transit system and are scheduled to be retired in late 2025/early 2026 when the next order of double-deck buses arrive.
The Transit Museum Society of British Columbia, established in 1986, is dedicated to restoring, preserving and operating historical vehicles significant to increasing awareness and sharing knowledge about the rich history of public transit in the province.
The six-hour heritage tour will cover some of the suburban routes (White Rock, Tsawwassen, etc.) where the buses are normally used. The charter will leave at 10:00 AM from the Bridgeport Canada Line Station, returning at 4:00 PM. A lunch stop in White Rock is scheduled.
The CTHF will have copies of our feature publications, “2024 Street Side Guide”, “50 Years of Moving Mississauga” and “The Toronto G Trains”, available for purchase during this event.
Please register early to avoid missing out. We look forward to seeing you there!
Cost for the Charter Event – CTHF and TMS Members – $40 CDN; Non Members – $50 CDN
