The Metro opened on Oct. 14, 1966 with just 20 stations on the Orange and Green lines. Now, the network spans four lines and 68 stations, with five more set to open on the Blue line in 2031. Montreal’s transit authority says there have been more than 11 billion trips since the network was inaugurated.
